With goodwill, we ordained John Baotixita Ho Huu Hoa as a Priest, was ordained a Deacon on September 8, 2022, and then ordained a Priest on December 7, 2022, in the Diocese Maasin, for the Diocese of Vinh, Vietnam.
This ordination took place in accordance with the usual canonical procedures, especially the submission of the necessary documents for ordination signed by Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long, Bishop of Vinh Diocese, and stamped by the Court. Bishop, and confirmed by Father Gerardo Nguyen Nam Viet, chancellor.
Furthermore, this is supported by documents, such as confirmation and referral letters, certifications and credentials, and even thank you letters. All of this, written and signed by reputable Vietnamese missionaries responsible for Father. The Priestly Formation of John Baotixita. Among these is a letter from Bishop Paul Nguyen Thai Hop, OP, Former Bishop of Ha Tinh Diocese, former Bishop of Vinh Diocese, presenting the matter to our Office and the reason for this request.
After his ordination as a priest, Father John Baotixita, together with the Chancellor of Vinh Diocese, and a Vietnamese deacon working as interpreters, asked to meet with us. After weighing the seriousness of the claim and its appropriateness, the mandatory canonical procedure was instituted and eventually brought him into the Diocese of Maasin on January 15, 2023.
The current uproar regarding this matter is truly unfortunate and upsetting. We are currently taking the necessary steps and procedures, hoping to help all concerned to be understood, and so the issues will be clarified. In addition, we entrust the situation to the appropriate agency to determine the authenticity of the documents referred to our Office.
May the Light of Christ guide our actions, so that we may find the truth.
